On Friday the 1st of March the William Pike Group from Wesley Intermediate school had our first meeting. First we sat in a circle and threw a bean bag around, if you had the bean bag then you had had to share something cool that happened to you that week and something challenging. Then we had to go into the hall and get into two even group I went with Lizzie and Josh. In our groups we had to choose someone to be blind folded(we chose Josh). Once we got someone in our group blind folded we went inside and there were 2 table and lots of toys in the middle. The two people who were not blind folded in each team had to go behind their teams tables, we got given a picture and we had to instruct our blind team member to construct the picture using the toys without saying what the things were other wise we had a 10 second penalty. The first team done wins! Take a look at these videos and photos.
I learned that you have to work together as a team not only with the blind person but with your other team mate who is also telling the blind person what to do otherwise the blind folded person wont know what to do.
I really enjoyed this activity, I felt a little stressed out but it was really fun. I cant wait to get back with the WPCA group and do more fun things.
