WPCA ski trip challenge

HI MY NAME IS HELENE AND I AM A STUDENT AT WESLEY INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL. I AM PART OF THE AWESOME WILLIAM PIKE CHALLENGE AWARD GROUP, AND ON 28th AUGUST WE WENT ON OUR fourth OUTDOOR ACTIVITY!

On the 26th of august the William Pike group and some other students from Wesley intermediate school headed up to Tongariro national park. On the 27th we were supposed to go skiing but only a minuscule amount of the mountain was open due to it snowing so the adults decided to go the national army museum, a 2 hour walk around Rotopounamu lake and we went to the mineral pools.

On the 28th it was a gorgeous day (perfect for skiing), we went up to Whakapapa and had a 2 hour skiing lesson is happy valley. After our lesson Miss Davis, Mr Davis and Miss Corbet took some of the students (including me) up to rock garden. I fell over so many time but on about my 6th or 7th time going down I only fell over twice!

I really enjoyed the ski trip challenge. By the end of the day I was much more confident and I cant wait to go skiing again.

Look at these awesome photos of us playing in the snow and skiing.
