10 days of Christmas blog challenge day 1

Hi my name is Helene and I'm from Wesley Intermediate School. This week we will be doing to 10 days of Christmas blog challenge. Here is my day 1 task

We had to make a slide with what we do for Christmas and how we celebrate. Then we had to make another slide on Christmas in another culture.                                                                                                                                        I really enjoyed doing this task and I got to find a lot out about German culture. The part I found challenging about this task was that we had to include pictures as well as writing but I had a lot to write so I struggled to find space. It was fun reading other peoples tasks as it was interesting to find out what other people do to celebrate. Please leave in the comments what you do for Christmas. I cant wait to do day 2 task!

What makes a good presentation

Hi my name is Helene and I go to Wesley Intermediate school. This week room 9 presented our inquiry projects to the class. Then we had to make a DLO on what makes a good presentation. This is my DLO that I did with another girl in my class.

I found this fun and very helpful. Now I know what I need to do better next time.

What the future looks like.

Hello everyone my name is Helene and I am from Wesley Intermediate and today we are discussing what we think New Zealand will look like in 80-90 years. Here are my ideas:

I think people in New Zealand will be living in pods that they can sleep and eat and do every thing in. I think in 80-90 years time people will be eating pills with enough nutrients to keep you going for 8 hours. In my opinion people will be able to teleport to different places in their pods. I also think that due to global warming New Zealand will be a lot smaller.

Simplifying expressions

Hi my name is Helene and I am from Wesley Intermediate. Last week we were learning about simplifying expressions. Have a look at my DLO to find out how to do it.

I found this task confusing but quiet easy once I got the hang of it. I think I need to work on doing it faster. Simplifying expressions is really fun and very useful. See if you can work out 3x+9y+7x-4y+2 and 7x2+6-3x2-4 and let me know the answer in the comments.

Fraction multiplication.

Hi my name is Helene I am in room 9 at Wesley intermediate. This week in maths I was learning to multiply fractions.

I found This task hard at first but once I got the hang of it it is quite easy. I think I need to work on working out the answer quicker. I would like to know more about simplifying the answer. multiplying fractions is very fun and simple after you know the technique.

Flash cards

This week in maths we were learning our basic facts.

On Monday the 17 September we had two basic facts test, one on multiplication and the on division. After our tests we had to circle the questions we got wrong or didn't answer on each test. I missed 5 questions on the multiplication test, but none wrong. on the division test I got 1 wrong, and missed a few. Then we chose the 10 hardest questions on both the tests together. My teacher tested me and gave me 5 questions to put on flash cards then he gave me 5 fraction multiplication questions.

simple, compound and complex sentences.

This week in writing I have been learning to use simple, compound and complex sentences. we use this to help our writing get better grades and be way more interesting.

I found this task a little bit challenging to do the complex sentences but the simple sentences and compound sentences were easier. I think I need work on using the correct conjunctions. I would like to know more about making the sentences making sense.
